Reorganizing Is An Art and A Science

CIO's need to look at reorganization in a very different way from other executives,  particularly in an industry like healthcare where longevity is typically very long but speed of technology change is very sudden...it is quite a dilemma at times producing support issues, personnel matters, legal consequences, and a greater than acceptable level of risk to the organization. A simple plan for succession planning can help but one must ensure the technical skill set evolves while the leadership, business, and political acumen do as well.
